Malawi has real technology. It's just hard to find.

Every day, Malawian developers, students, researchers, and innovators are building amazing technology. But these projects are scattered across personal blogs, GitHub repositories, university websites, and social media.

MTHub exists to solve that problem by creating a single, trusted showcase of Malawian-built technology.

Finding Malawian Tech Made Simple

Our Mission

To make Malawian technology discoverable, credible, and celebrated by providing a manually curated showcase of real, working projects.

Our Vision

A future where anyone looking for Malawian technology can find quality projects in minutes, not days—and trust that what they find actually works.

The Problem We Solve

Scattered Projects

Great projects hidden in different places with no central directory.

No Verification

No way to know if a project actually works or is just an idea.

Time Wasted

Hours spent searching through abandoned projects and broken links.

Quality Issues

Real projects mixed with scams, hype, and non-functional demos.

Our Solution: Manual Curation

Instead of creating another automated directory filled with unverified content, we built MTHub on a simple principle: editorial curation over automation.

1

Personal Review

Every project is personally reviewed by the curator. No automated submissions.

2

Hands-On Testing

We test projects when possible. Click links, try demos, verify claims.

3

Quality Filtering

Only real, working, Malawian technology makes it to the showcase.

4

Clear Status

Every project gets a verified status so you know what you're getting.

The Curator

Manual Review, One Person

MTHub is curated by a single individual passionate about Malawi's tech ecosystem. This ensures consistency, quality control, and a personal touch in every listing.

Hands-on verification
Quality over quantity
No automated content

How MTHub Works Technically

What We Are

  • Static Website: Pure HTML, CSS, and minimal JavaScript
  • No Backend: No databases, servers, or complex infrastructure
  • Manual Updates: Content added by editing HTML files directly
  • Form Submissions: Via Formspree or direct email
  • Fast & Reliable: Works with Malawi's internet speeds

What We're Not

  • Not a CMS: No WordPress, no content management system
  • No User Accounts: No logins, profiles, or user-generated content
  • Not Automated: No algorithms deciding what appears
  • No Complex Tech: Keeping it simple and maintainable
  • Not for Profit: No advertising, no paid placements

Why this simple approach? It allows one person to maintain the entire platform indefinitely. No server costs, no security vulnerabilities, no technical debt. The focus stays on curation, not technical maintenance.

Manual Over Automated

Every project is hand-reviewed. No algorithms, no automation, no user-generated content.

Verified Over Promised

We prefer 50 verified projects over 500 unvetted ones. Working technology only.

Showcase Over Ownership

We showcase, we don't own. All intellectual property remains with creators.

Independent Over Affiliated

We're not affiliated with any institution. Projects are selected on merit alone.

Sustainable Over Scalable

Built to be maintained by one person indefinitely. Simple technology that lasts.

Impact Over Hype

We celebrate real impact over viral hype. Solving real problems for Malawi.

No. MTHub is an independent project run by one person. It's not a company, not an NGO, not affiliated with any institution.

Do you charge for listings?

Can I trust the projects listed?

Yes. Every project is manually reviewed. We test when possible and assign clear status labels (Verified, Prototype, Concept).

How often is new content added?

As projects are reviewed and approved. There's no schedule—quality takes time. Typically 1-5 new projects per month.
